Hannah Whelan visits SSoG
Hannah Whelan recently announced her retirement from the sport having competed at all of the world’s most prestigious competitions. She competed at the 2008 Summer Olympics and the 2012 London Olympics. Hannah has won three European medals, and in 2014 was the bronze medallist in the all-around at the Commonwealth Games. She is four times British Senior Champion. Hannah specialised on the Beam and Foor although competing all-around as well.
Hannah visited SSoG on the afternoon of Tuesday 14th April and worked with a small group of club gymnasts passing on her experience on the Beam and Floor and a selection of Conditioning exercises. Later in the afternoon a wider group also met Hannah got autographs, took photos and saw a selection of her gymnastic medals and leotards when she competed for GB.
It was an exciting afternoon for the younger members of the club and we hope that they got a lot from her visit. Thank you Hannah for agreeing to come.
