SSoG on the tele!

E-mail Print PDF

The filming of Lindsay happened on a very cold Saturday with Garden Productions in charge. All went well, gymnasts behaved and stretched nicely. All good fun.

Good luck to Lindsay, only 5 weeks to go.

Look out for the programme when it is on the BBC. The working title is Midwives.

Filming at Dialstone

An independent TV company is filming a programme, working title Midwives, which is following specialised midwives as they go about their duties. It will be shown on the BBC.

garden prod

They are following one of our 2 piece coaches, Lindsay Humphreys, and as part of the show they are following her around looking at all of the things she would normally do and coaching is one of her many activities. They will be in the gym on Saturday morning, 4th February. There will be permission forms for parents to fill in if you are going to be filmed. Don't worry, there are no huge trucks full of equipment and lights, ladies running round doing make up. With modern equipment it will be a producer and a camera man. Should still be fun.

GM Grades 2012 Day 1

E-mail Print PDF

Day 1 was for grade 13s and 14s. Always going to be difficult to shine due to the rule changes, but looks like it was a good day. Under the 2011 rules all 4 of the grade 14 gymnasts would have reached the finals, but with the 2012 rules none of them did. Well done Charlotte Cleaver, bronze medal for Range and Conditioning.

gymnasts

Gymnasts had a great day, all passed and we had 4 distinctions. Still waiting for photos.

Arrangements for 28/29th January

E-mail Print PDF

The arrangements for this weekend are as follow:

Recreational Gymnastic Sessions are on as normal. We did talk to parents on Saturday morning last week that there could be a BBC film crew in, but this will not be happening, probably delayed until 4th February. This weekend is Baga Proficiency Badge weekend.

2 Piece sessions will continue as normal

For Club gymnasts the sessions will be different as it is the weekend of the Grades competition at Copley, so numbers are reduced. There will be no formal conditioning session on Saturday morning. The club session on Saturday afternoon continues as normal. There are no sessions on Sunday for the gymnasts who competed in the grades on Saturday. The Sunday session ia as normal for other gymnasts, but finish at 12.00.

Good luck to all gymnasts taking their Grades
