Highlights for 1989 included the festival of gymnastics in Liverpool called Interstrada, winning the Greater Manchester Youth Games for the first time and Lucy Stanway becoming the National Novice Champion. A competition in Bury also is mentioned. There is also the Novice and Intermediate Championships in Liverpool.
