Stockport School of Gymnastics Facility

All gymnastics, both Recreational and Elite takes place at the Dialstone Recreation Centre on Lisburne Lane in Offerton. The centre is not a purpose built fixed facility, it is a normal sports centre, so that every time we train the kit has to be put out and then at the end of the session, put away. Despite this the equipment on offer is excellent and in good condition. The club spends an average of £6,000 per annum on new and replacement kit.

  New for 2005

During 2004 the old blue floor area was replaced with a new grey floor supplied by Continental Sports. 50% of the cost of the floor was provided by the Manchester Airport Community Trust, to whom we are grateful.

We also  replaced a  beam, with a fully height adjustable Gymnova Competition Beam. The old beam has been donated to the Brabyns club.

The A bars are supplied by Continental Sports and have competition  200mm thick safety mats.

This single bar has height adjustment and can be used for giants when at full height and upstarts in the lower position. It can be used with wooden or silver bar. The equipment is supplied by Gymnova.

The club has an old cross vault and was one of the first in the region to use the new vaulting table. The equipment is FIG approved and supplied by Gymnova. Competition safety mats are used in conjunction with the vaulting table.

In the summer months the club has the use of 2 trampolines

As the floor is not sprung we have a ski-run consisting of sprung wooden sections covered with fast foam and carpet, all supplied by Continental Sports.

We have 4 beams, three supplied by Gymnova that are fully height adjustable.

The latest addition is a set of Competition Mats to fit around the Gymnova Beam. The matting was supplied by Continental Sports
