Stockport School of Gymnastics

Carnival

2002

Stockport Carnival was held on 29th June 2002 with the traditional procession from Belmont Way to Woodbank Park. Our float won best in class which was quite an achievement for a couple of hours work. The weather forcast had threatened heavy showers but on the day was chilly with hot spells but luckily, no rain.

New for this year was that we were invited to do a display in the park which was well attended and was well received. The only difficult bit was that the field was on a slope which made the beam routines more of a floor routine with alot of falling off.

Memories....firstly the music that was completely drowned out by the group playing next door, secondly the pruning of the conker tree to allow mounts.
